Often it can be difficult to maintain a spiritual outlook at work. Sometimes we have to deal with demanding and overbearing bosses, sometimes we have to deal with difficult co-workers who have very little interest in spirituality, and sometimes we have to deal with jobs that we don't particularly like.

What do you do (if anything) to maintain a spiritual focus while you are at work?

When I am at work, I have a couple of things that I can do to help me maintain my focus. One thing is to read a portion of whatever book on existence I am reading at the time. If I do not have the time to do that, I have the deist calendar from positivedeism.com, and looking at the inspirational quotes can help put me in the right frame of mind. Not only does this calm me down, but it also helps me do my job better, as I am then in a positive state of mind

That's a very good point. Perhaps I could hang up a photo like this on my cubicle wall.

Spirituality at Work Monkey-mind

It would act as a nice reminder of what is real and what is important in life and perhaps help me to tame the "monkey mind" for at least a few seconds.

Luckily I traded in my desk for a workplace beneath the blazing sun last year.

Well, technically the credit crisis made that trade for me, but I appreciate it nonetheless!

Ah, the invisible hand of the free-market working it's wonders...
