| We do, but we don't have winters so I don't know if that affects it at all. | |

Composting will work during the winter, because it generates its own heat. But it needs to be insulated just like your house, otherwise the busy little "bugs" may get too cold for comfort. And uncomfortable bugs tend to hibernate. http://counties.cce.cornell.edu/tompkins/compost/Winter%20Composting.pdf | |

| Yeah I compost my vegetable and fruit and plant matter but basically don't do it in the winter so I'll consider Gnomon's advice. But probably let it hibernate to the spring. In Toronto our compost (basically all living remains) is picked up weekly, as well. Did you know all of Toronto's garbage not put into composting or our intensive recycling program, is transported, truck by truck, to a landfill in Michigan, has been for years. How stupid is that. | |

| I think it says a lot about America, and capitalism in general actually, that we'll let other country's dump their garbage here just for a quick buck. | |

| Yeah, actually it was increasingly causing more of a ruckus so there's only a year or two left and then it will stop forever. Even then our garbage is still going to be trucked at least two hours away, truck by truck by truck. | |

| I think Toronto should pile it up somewhere on the outskirts of the city and then put a ski slope on it. Who knows, maybe it'll help them to make a push for a Winter Olympics or something. | |
