United Church of Religious Science Empty

I came across this site for the United Church of Religious Science and noticed some similarities to Panendeism.

Quote :
What We Believe

We believe in God, the living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute, and self-existent Cause. This One manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.

We believe in the incarnation of the Spirit in US, and that all PEOPLE are incarnations of the One Spirit.

We believe in the eternality, the immortality, and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.

We believe that HEAVEN is within US, and that we experience IT to the degree that we become conscious of It.

We believe the ultimate goal of life to be a complete emancipation from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.

We believe in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling Presence.

We believe in the direct revelation of Truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that ANYONE may become a revealer of Truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.

We believe that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.

We believe in the healing of the sick through the power of this Mind.

We believe in the control of conditions through the power of this Mind.

We believe in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness, and the eternal Givingness of Life to all.

We believe in our own soul, our own spirit, and our own destiny; for we understand that OUR LIFE is God.

-Dr. Ernest Holmes

Some of the stuff listed get's a little too "New Agey" for me but I did find it interesting.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I think I have heard this in about a hundred or two incantations on DD and/or PD. It generally states where faith begins. I accept it, but I couldn’t prove it.

I would call it the reverie, regardless of what IT is called, I fully accept IT and (think) I understand.

Nope. I surely don’t think so. Now if they are suggesting that the ‘possibility’ exists to be a revealer I might go along a little. But to be a revealer of ‘objective’ truth implies the ability to accurately measure (quantify). To be a revealer of ‘subjective’ truth is to be able to demonstrate the utility of believing in that truth.

opps, I just got shoved in the deep end of the pool and although I can swim its’ the circling sharks that got me worried. Can a positive attitude and a little fat help a sick person? Surely! But it ain’t gonna fix a broken kidney or fatally damaged organ. They made a strong statement. I am sure they meant to include some qualifications. Therein are the roots of religion.

Ditto y'all.

Uh oh as well. Odds are I'd get banned there just as quick as any revealed site.

Hello All!

New here. Great synchronicity with this thread.

I just read an article in my local newspaper saying that one of the two local Religious Science churches has gone with the national movement to rename themselves "Church of Living Spirituality".

I was a member for years and it's a wonderful group. The most empowering of the many movements I've "shopped". They teach specific methodology to access one's Higher Self and all that is divine, which also aides in disciplining one's thoughts/behaviors.

The synch is that this morning I decided to go back there as I've not been doing real well in some of the discipline areas.

Anyway, thanks for the link to this group, Aaron. I'm glad to finally get here.

Thankee, Sweetie!

This place is great....

I don't see the smileys menu on the Quick reply window.

Also, is there another way to reply, maybe a Slow reply? Smile
