| This is something that came to me today.........
If beliefs are something each of us chooses to put faith in, even though there's no way to prove it, why not make those beliefs fun instead of horrible?
Here's one..... What's the point of "believing" in hell? A place where your enemies and those who persecute others will burn in hell fire forever? Revenge?
Can you guys come up with other odd beliefs?

| Most people aren't aware of the story enough to be in a position to choose their beliefs. | |

| I like this one...
"As man is, so is his God. And thus is God oft strangely odd." ~ Goethe

Yes but why did peple make up the beliefs to begin with? I think that humans are innate storytellers. In fact, it is via our stories that we create our reality, and our culture. We make Myth in order to give meaning and purpose to the universe, and, in some small fashion, to control and contain that mystery.

Yes but why did peple make up the beliefs to begin with? I think that in the absence of scientific knowledge, such as in traditional societies, people went with what made the most sense to them.

| as soon as we started naming things we had to rely on belief. words are why we believe in things because we have to believe in words.
you have to believe in something when describing it in its absence and so does the person receiving the information.
words are belief. | |
